Report a Correction
If you believe a record contains an error, let us know. We investigate every report.
How to report an error
If you believe a record in Surplus Registry contains incorrect information — a wrong address, case number, sale date, amount, or any other detail — please contact us with the following:
- The record number or property address
- What you believe is incorrect
- The correct information (if known)
- The source of the correct information (e.g., court document, sheriff's office)
What happens next
We investigate every correction report. If the error is confirmed, we correct the record and update the "last verified" date. If the record cannot be verified against the official source, we remove it from the public registry.
We aim to respond to all correction reports within 5 business days.
Official records control
Surplus Registry is a research and search tool. The official record — maintained by the court, sheriff, county treasurer, or other government office — is always the authoritative source. If there is any discrepancy between Surplus Registry and the official record, the official record controls.
