For Counties & Agencies

Help Make Surplus Funds Easier to Find

Counties, sheriffs, courts, tax collectors, treasurers, municipalities and other public agencies may securely contribute foreclosure, tax-sale and excess-proceeds information to Surplus Registry. Participating organizations can submit individual records, upload bulk files, maintain jurisdiction data or establish recurring data feeds.

How Agency Participation Works

1

Apply to Participate

Submit an application with your agency information, official website, and the types of records you can provide. Applications are reviewed by Surplus Registry staff.

2

Verification

We verify your agency identity and authority to submit records. Government email addresses are helpful evidence but do not alone authorize an account.

3

Submit Records

Once approved, submit individual records, upload bulk spreadsheets or PDFs, or establish recurring data feeds. All submissions are reviewed before publication.

4

Review & Publication

Submitted records enter our internal review workflow. Records become public only after verification and approval by authorized Surplus Registry staff.

What Agencies Can Submit

Individual Records

Enter foreclosure, tax sale, sheriff sale, and excess proceeds records through a guided form with jurisdiction, property, case, sale, and surplus details.

Bulk Uploads

Upload CSV, Excel, or PDF files containing multiple records. Our import system validates, maps columns, and screens for duplicates before review.

Data Feeds

Establish recurring automated data feeds from your agency systems. Contact us to discuss API integration and scheduled imports.

Corrections & Updates

Submit corrections to existing records, update sale statuses, and provide official accounting or deposit information for verification.

Important Disclaimer

Surplus Registry is an independent public-record research and information platform. It is not a government agency and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any federal, state, county or municipal government. Participation by a public agency does not make Surplus Registry an agency of that government. Records, claim procedures, eligibility and deadlines vary by jurisdiction. Users should verify information with the official agency, court or custodian identified in the record.
